We Make Your Bike Outing Easy

Affectionately called the “Loveland Bike Trail” it is the Little Miami State Park and it is 70 miles long with connections to well over 100 miles. Free parking, picnic tables, rest rooms, easy access, coffee, ice cream shops, restaurants and entertainment have made Loveland, Milford, Newtown, Miami Township & Lebanon excellent staging areas.

Short Rides from Loveland

TO WHISTLE STOP CLAYWORKS

Very close. You could even just walk. This ride is on streets.

Directions: Before or after your ride walk over to Loveland Sweets for a Sweet Shop trip back in time.

Then: Ride East on Loveland Avenue from the Bike Trail across the Railroad Tracks. At the first traffic light turn left on Second Street/SR 48. Whistle Stop Clayworks is 100 feet on the right.

Distance: A block or so!

Time: About 10 minutes out and 10 minutes back plus however long you visit.

Other info: This is all on streets. It is close enough you could walk it on sidewalks no problem.

TO STUDIOS ON MAIN

Here’s a fun short one. Check out multiple galleries under one roof in a cool old building.

This ride is on streets.

Directions: Ride West on Loveland Avenue from the Bike Trail across the Little Miami River. At the first traffic light turn left on Wall Street. Wall dead ends into Main. Turn Right on Main and Studios on Main is on your left.

Distance: About 1 mile Round trip

Time: About 10 minutes out and 10 minutes back plus however long you visit.

Along the way: View of river from Bridge. Veterans Memorial Park. Art House II

Other info: This is all on streets. It is close enough you could walk it on sidewalks no problem. Studios on Main is a great place to check out in Loveland. 513-235-6700

TO A PLAYGROUND AND BACK*

Down the Trail to Riverview Park. A great ride to take smaller children on.

Directions: Ride South from Loveland to Riverview Park playground. This is perfect for the smaller kids. It makes bike riding more fun with the destination of a nice playground and it’s a short enough ride (less than a mile one way).

Distance: 1.75 Miles Round trip

Time: About 25 minutes out and 25 minutes back and 60 minutes at the playground.

Along the way: Tree lined trail along the river.

Other info: Playground and park are very nice. Public restrooms, drinks machines and water fountain. As you head south on the trail look for a lovely private log cabin with a wrap around deck on the right side of the trail, when you see that look to the left of the trail and you will see the street crossing and entrance to Riverview Park.

* For very small children a good alternative is to visit the playground right in Loveland at Nisbet Park and combine with a little out and back biking.

OVER THE RIVER TO THE HISTORY MUSEUM

Directions: This is a very short ride (makes nice walk also) on the street across the Little Miami, past the Veterans Park and to the lovely History Museum and Gift Shop. Sidewalks available entire route.

Distance: Less than 2 miles round trip

Along the way: Great views of the Little Miami from the bridge and stop at the Veterans memorial on the way. Other info: The Museum is open Sat and Sun 1-4:30 and by appt. 683-5692

LOVELAND CASTLE RIDE

Directions: Ride west on streets and see Loveland real castle built from rocks of the Little Miami. Several hills and one extremely steep on Mullberry (walk bikes). For experienced road riders only.

Distance: 3 Miles round trip.

Time: 40 minutes out, 30 minutes back, 60 minutes at castle.

Along the way: 99% on streets. Stop for a snack or lunch at Loveland Mill, Paxton’s Grill or on the way at the Loveland Dairy Whip.

Longer Rides from Loveland

LOVELAND TO FOSTER (OR VICE VERSA)

Distance: 7 Miles Round trip

Time: About 30 minutes out and 30 minutes back plus time for stops.

Along the way: Tree lined trail along the river. Nancy Ford Cones home (private) and Butterworth underground railroad house (private). In Foster you will find rest rooms, drinking fountain, food. We suggest getting something to eat on your return to Loveland with many options.

Other info: Restrooms, drinking fountain and vending in Foster.

LOVELAND TO MIAMIVILLE

Directions: Ride South on Trail

Distance: 11 Miles round trip

Time: About 30 minutes out, 1 hour at the TrailYard and 30 minutes back.

Along the way: 100% on the trail. Flat and scenic.

Other info: The Miamiville TrailYard is a fantastic new stop midway between Milford and Loveland.

2-3 Hour Rides from and to Loveland, Milford and Newtown

LOVELAND TO MILFORD

Distance: 16 Miles Round Trip

Time: About 60 minutes out, 60 minutes in Milford, 60 minutes back.

Along the way: 95% on bike trail but in Milford you will go on the street a short Distance into the historic district. Stop for a snack or lunch in Milford’s charming historic district. Along the way: Miami View Park, Trestle across the Little Miami, Camp Dennison Civil War Museum, Site of Morgan’s Raiders Train Robbery site.

MILFORD TO NEWTOWN (OR VICE VERSA)

Time: About 30 minutes out, 60 minutes in Newtown, 30 minutes back..

Along the way: 99% on bike trail. Snack lunch or Brew in Milford’s charming historic district. Lunch or dinner at Urban Grill on Main in Newtown. Wonderful outdoor seating..

3-4 Hour Rides from Loveland to Morrow or Lebanon

LOVELAND TO MORROW

Directions: Ride North from Loveland to the railroad town of Morrow.

Distance: 26 Miles Round trip

Time: about 60 minutes out and 60 minutes back with 60 minutes in Morrow.

Along the way: Tree lined trail along the river. Nancy Ford Cones home (private) and Butterworth underground railroad house (private). In Foster you will find the Train Stop Inn, horse stables, rest rooms, drinking fountain, coke machines. In Kings Mill the old Peters Cartridge Co. In South Lebanon public restrooms.

LOVELAND TO LEBANON

Directions: Ride North on Loveland BIke Trail 8 Miles where the Countryside Trail to Lebanon splits off. It is clearly marked.

Distance: 32 Miles Round Trip

Time: About 1.5 hours out, and 1.5 hours back

Along the way: 95% separate paved trail. Less than 1 mile on road with traffic shared use section. 1 significant hill for children, several smaller hills. Not a lot of places to stop on the way but it is a very lovely trail and once you get into Lebanon great treats awaits you at Whit’s Frozen Custard. Include in your visit a stop at the Glendower Mansion just two blocks from the trail. Very charming town. You could also start the ride in Lebanon with breakfast at The Breakfast Club.
